Crash Team Racing Nitro-Fueled has zoomed onto Xbox Game Pass, now accessible to gamers across all tiers, including the budget-friendly Core. It’s just one of several exciting additions to the Xbox Game Pass lineup alongside DayZ and Goat Simulator for Core members, while Standard subscribers also gain access to Forza Motorsport, Hauntii, and Humanity.
Brought to life by the talented team at Beenox, CTR Nitro-Fueled is a brilliant remaster of the beloved 1999 classic developed by Naughty Dog. Released in June 2019, it was met with overwhelmingly positive feedback. Critics and fans alike appreciated its vivid graphics, diverse content, and the sheer fun of split-screen multiplayer, helping it secure an impressive “Strong” rating on OpenCritic with an average score of 83 and a 90% recommendation rate.
Fast forward five and a half years from its original release, and CTR Nitro-Fueled has finally rolled into the Xbox Game Pass arsenal as of December 4. While it’s available to Xbox One and Series X/S users, a PC version remains out of reach for now. Unlike some console exclusives that stream to PC via Xbox Cloud Gaming, this thrilling kart racer hasn’t made that leap yet.
Making its debut on the Core tier is quite notable for Nitro-Fueled, reflecting Microsoft’s push to diversify offerings across their service levels. The Core service doesn’t get updates as frequently, yet, along with CTR, it welcomes DayZ and the original Goat Simulator in its latest refresh. Interestingly, Goat Simulator’s reentry to all tiers follows its removal from higher levels just last month, balancing the scales for Core subscribers.
Beyond the karting chaos of CTR, the Standard tier sees the arrival of Forza Motorsport, Hauntii, and Humanity—previously exclusive to non-Ultimate subscribers. This marks a continued evolution of the tier system Microsoft implemented earlier this year, offering fresh options for players.
December has plenty more in store, with several new additions and even a few departures. At least four more titles are set to join the service before the close of 2024, despite the looming loss of 13 games, including Forza Horizon 4, starting on December 15. It’s a dynamic time for Xbox Game Pass, keeping gamers on their toes and their controllers charged.
