This week, Nintendo Switch eShop has a fresh batch of offerings for gamers. Fans of classic games will be thrilled to see a collection of SNES titles making their way to the platform, and there’s also a selection of new tunes for the Nintendo music app. Additionally, there are enticing sales that you might want to check out, along with a variety of brand-new titles hitting the digital shelves.
Adding to the nostalgia, four new games from developer Koei, which thrived during the SNES era, are now available. One is “Nobunaga’s Ambition,” released originally in 1993, that invites players to step into the chaos of Japan’s Sengoku period. Another is its sequel, “Nobunaga’s Ambition: Lord of Darkness,” which made its debut in 1994, continuing the conquest saga across Japan’s war-torn regions.
Switching geographical focus, “Romance of the Three Kingdoms IV Wall of Fire,” comes from the historic backdrop of China, inspired by its namesake novel. This 1994 strategy game lets players engage in turn-based tactical battles among the country’s competing factions.
Sailing west to the European seas, “Uncharted Waters: New Horizons” offers an adventurous twist with its 1993 release featuring sailing and trading during the Age of Discovery. Navigate these historic waters while engaging in quests and sea battles.
The music side of things on the Switch is also getting a boost. Although not complete, the latest update to the Nintendo Music app includes 23 tracks from “Kirby and the Forgotten Land.” Fans are left hoping for the rest to be released soon.
Looking at what else is new, a game titled “Which Way Up: Galaxy Games” is among the arrivals on the eShop. Last week on the Pure Nintendo Podcast, we had an insightful chat with its developer, Turtle Flip Studio. If you missed it, give it a listen and watch for our full game review coming soon.
That’s the scoop for this week at the eShop. Are any of these games catching your eye? What are you diving into this week in your gaming adventures? Share your thoughts!
Regarding “Nobunaga’s Ambition,” players take on the role of a feudal lord during tumultuous times in Japan, guiding their territories toward unity. Options for warfare tactics include direct combat, stealthy maneuvers, and strategic economic plays. This title supports multiplayer using just a single Joy-Con, adding a communal play aspect.
“Nobunaga’s Ambition: Lord of Darkness” allows players to immerse themselves further into Japan’s complex socio-political fabric. You wield power across open battles and also embrace cultural and technological growth within your realm. Crafting artifacts like rifles can significantly alter your force’s prowess in conflict.
“Romance of the Three Kingdoms IV Wall of Fire” positions players in China’s fractured dynasty. The challenge is to forge a stable empire amid fierce territorial battles. Whether you use military might or diplomatic cunning, the goal is a prosperous and peaceful rule.
“Uncharted Waters: New Horizons” invites players into a time of maritime exploration. Choosing from various characters, embark on seafaring adventures, engaging in trade and exploration. Form alliances, rebuild your fleet, and confront rival sailors in thrilling oceanic encounters.
Lastly, for those humming along to adventure, 23 tracks from the beloved “Kirby and the Forgotten Land” have landed on the Nintendo Music app, perfect for setting your gaming sessions or your day-to-day life with uplifting game tunes.
