Oh man, if there’s one thing that can make a grown person feel like a kid again, it’s definitely preordering a shiny new console. You know what I’m talking about. Anyway, guess what? If you were on top of your game and managed to snag one of those elusive Switch 2 preorders last night, I’ve got some juicy tidbits for you. (If you didn’t, well, you probably had more sleep than the rest of us.)
Let’s start with Sonic. Yes, our blue, never-aging hedgehog buddy is making a debut on the big launch day! SEGA just spilled the beans that SONIC X SHADOW GENERATIONS is hitting consoles on June 5th. It’s like Christmas in June, right?
Okay, so Sonic’s not coming alone. He’s rubbin’ elbows with Yakuza 0 Director’s Cut and Puyo Puyo Tetris 2S when the Switch 2 graces us with its presence. You know the drill – both digital and physical doors are wide open for preorders.
Now, on to the fun stuff, because who doesn’t like digging into the details like a detective on a caffeine binge? For SONIC X SHADOW GENERATIONS, you get to be Shadow, taking on this new story where apparently he’s proving why he’s the “Ultimate Life Form.” (Kinda cocky, but that’s Shadow for you.) Oh, and they’ve thrown in a remaster of Sonic Generations. That game’s like a nostalgia rollercoaster — just with better graphics and hopefully fewer frame drops.
Then, there’s Puyo Puyo Tetris 2S. I swear, this game knows how to mess with your mind – in a good way. There’s this new “Puyo Tetris Doubles” thing, where you’re basically teaming up in 2v2 battles on a single board. It sounds chaotic. Like, “What did I just do to my brain?” kind of chaotic. Plus, it brings in 40 characters, including our hedgehog hero, and they all have their own quirks and stats.
Yakuza 0… what can I say? If you’ve been a fan of watching Kazuma Kiryu and his hard-hitting drama, this Director’s Cut is like the ultimate fan service. New story bits, for one. There’s even this “Red Light Raid” multiplayer mode (who names these?). Pick a pal, take on enemies, make a night of it. And they’re finally adding all these languages for subtitles and voices. ‘Bout time, right?
Oh, and last but not least, don’t forget you can also preorder RAIDOU Remastered: The Mystery of the Soulless Army, which arrives on June 19. Plus, keep your eyes peeled for Two Point Museum hitting the shelves later this year.
Want more info? SEGA’s got you covered at www.sega.com. But, hey, enough about trying to be informative. Maybe it’s just me who’s just too excited – or maybe I had too much coffee. Who’s even counting cups at this point?
