So, we’re diving into this thing called Unfinished Business. It’s like a sequel or a distant cousin to RoboCop Rogue City, but you don’t need to have finished Thanksgiving dinner with the first one to jump into this. I mean, feel free to do so, but it’s not a relationship requirement or anything.
Picture this: we kick things off with these mercenaries coming out of nowhere, busting into the Metro West precinct. They swipe some… uh, okay, important bits from RoboCop’s medical chair. They then high-tail it over to the OmniTower — OCP’s grandstand project, or their latest obsession. Can’t these guys catch a break?
Oh boy, the OmniTower. Talk about a monstrosity, this thing is colossal. Think of it as a mammoth-sized home for folks booted out of their old Detroit apartments. It’s a classic story of out with the old and in with, well, a tower complex sprouting like an oversized plant. Plus, there’s a kicker: merge the stolen chair pieces with this tower and the mercenaries could suddenly own all of OCP’s tech toys, even our pal RoboCop. Detouring through those floors is no picnic; unless your idea of fun is dodging bullets and unknown doom.
Moving along, as you snake up the tower, the plot thickens with returning phantoms from Alex Murphy’s prior life. Get this; the mercenaries’ ringleader is an ex-buddy of Murphy. It’s like they both care about guarding Old Detroit, but they’re singing from different hymn sheets.
Here’s the twist in the joystick: seeing this old pal sparks a memory lane trip for Murphy. Suddenly, he’s not just a metal giant again — welcome back to the beat cop days in Old Detroit. Does he feel invincible? Well, contrary to that, being RoboCop is all about becoming a tank, all powerful and indestructible. Going back, you’ll need to change gears and work those tactical brains. One too many bullets and boom, you’re trapped in nostalgia.
Oh, and I can’t forget, say hi to Miranda Hale. She’s this former OCP genius kicked out so another guy could bask in glory. Turns out she rode with the mercenaries for a spell but bailed when they clashed over, uh, styles? Anyway, wracked with guilt, she’s on RoboCop’s team now, seeking redemption.
It doesn’t stop with RoboCop and Alex, Unfinished Business lets you try on new shoes like Miranda’s and others. Think of them as pieces of a mosaic to show you the lengths humans hit for their beliefs. And let’s be honest, if RoboCop’s on your trail, you’ve probably overstepped a few lines.
It’s like a massive love note to RoboCop, our respect for the lore practically oozing from every pixel. Collaborating with Peter Weller, marveling at the fan love (seriously, it’s humbling!), and building this standalone is just wow. By the way, it’s dropping on PlayStation 5 this July 17. If you’re a PlayStation Plus subscriber, you can grab it earlier in April 2025. And, Peter Weller’s back for more man-machine action!
