WayForward has just announced the release date for the much-anticipated Double Dragon DLC for River City Girls 2. Fans won’t have to wait much longer, as the DLC featuring Billy and Jimmy Lee from Double Dragon is set to make its debut on the Nintendo Switch on November 12.
If you haven’t been following the buzz, here’s a quick refresher on what to expect from the DLC:
Billy and Jimmy Lee first captured hearts back in the 1987 arcade sensation Double Dragon, and since the launch of River City Girls 2, they’ve been at the top of the list of characters fans want to see. These iconic twin brothers are ready to bring their unique fighting styles to the game, each armed with an impressive repertoire of powerful punches, kicks, throws, and special moves. Fans can look forward to seeing their famous maneuvers like the spinning cyclone kick and rising knee make a return. And it’s not just about gameplay; Billy and Jimmy are woven into River City Girls 2’s narrative, brought to life with voice work by Dan Avidan and Arin Hanson from Game Grumps. To top it off, the DLC features an exhilarating vocal track by Avidan and Hanson, with music composed by Megan McDuffee, and introduces a new dojo master to cover for the brothers when they’re not clashing in combat.
But that’s not all. Alongside the premium DLC, a free update will be rolled out to all River City Girls 2 players. This update includes a brand new Double Dragon-themed motion comic, two fresh shops, new accessories, and more surprises, with additional details to be revealed closer to launch day.
Mark your calendars for November 12, when the Double Dragon DLC for River City Girls 2 hits the scene. Meanwhile, if you haven’t already, the base game is available for download on the eShop.
