I’ll be honest: in The Veilguard, Davrin was my go-to romance choice. The elven Warden’s intimate scene definitely set the bar high for me, leaving me a bit underwhelmed with the others in comparison. While it keeps within that PG-13 range, it’s certainly among the spicier ones. There’s something deeply satisfying about the moment when Davrin and Rook return from the Fade. Unlike most scenes, you actually get to see them undress one another. There’s some playful banter, followed by a transition to the couch where Rook takes charge before being gently positioned onto the bed. It’s these interactions, along with Taash’s, that really bring the heat. Watching it again, I’m reminded of how the actual intimate moments in other romances seemed to fall short.
Yet, what really stands out is the raw emotional aftermath. Rook is left contemplating whether their earlier conversation about the future still holds true. Davrin has this endearing quality where, when faced with hypothetical questions like, “Would you still love me if I were a worm?” he simply responds with a loving, “Yes, dear,” rather than dismissing it outright.
This leads you to envision your future together once the elven gods are vanquished. Do you hang up your adventurer’s gear for a peaceful domestic life with your feathered feline son, or do you embark on new quests throughout Thedas? Honestly, I initially intended to highlight another scene above Davrin’s to avoid showing favoritism, but BioWare truly excelled here. This scene rocks the top spot, hands down. Apologies to everyone else, but my Rook’s storyline could single-handedly end the Blight. Kudos to all who played along, but I think I’ve hit the romance jackpot.
