Just when it seemed like Red Dead Redemption 2 rejoined the PlayStation Plus lineup, giving gamers a fresh shot at tackling its vast, open-world Wild West, the game is gearing up to exit the service this October. It won’t be alone in its departure; plenty of other exciting titles are set to bid farewell as well.
In the latest update on the PSN store’s “Last Chance” section, both PS5 and PS4 gamers now have the lowdown on which games are wrapping up their stay at PS Plus Extra by month’s end. Beyond the brief return of Red Dead Redemption 2, fans of the Kingdom Hearts series will also be disappointed, especially those like myself who just started the adventure with family. Here’s the complete lineup of 16 games heading out in October:
– Red Dead Redemption 2 (PS4)
– Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas – The Definitive Edition (PS4 | PS5)
– Teardown (PS5)
– Chorus (PS4 | PS5)
– Dragon’s Dogma: Dark Arisen (PS4)
– What Remains of Edith Finch (PS4 | PS5)
– Overcooked! 2 (PS4)
– Superliminal (PS4 | PS5)
– Blasphemous (PS4)
– Moving Out (PS4)
– Kingdom Hearts HD 1.5 + 2.5 ReMIX (PS4)
– Kingdom Hearts HD 2.8 Final Chapter Prologue (PS4)
– Kingdom Hearts III (PS4)
– Kingdom Hearts: Melody of Memory (PS4)
– Mobile Suit Gundam Extreme Vs. Maxiboost On (PS4)
– Eiyuden Chronicle: Rising (PS4 | PS5)
– The Sims 4 City Living [DLC]
The departure of Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas is another hard-hitting piece of news. Then there are standouts like Blasphemous and the hauntingly beautiful What Remains of Edith Finch. Teardown offers a unique, blocky destruction experience that’s unexpectedly enjoyable. Red Dead Redemption 2 barely clocked in a six-month stint this round, while the goodbye to Kingdom Hearts is part of the latest exodus of Square Enix RPGs from PS Plus.
It’s become quite the skill among players to predict what titles might leave PS Plus, using the six, 12, and 18-month agreement terms as their crystal ball. This time around, some speculated that Ratchet & Clank: Rift Apart and Humanity might soon vanish too. But for now, they remain firmly planted, which is good news if they’re still on your must-play list. Just remember, you’ve got roughly six months to dive into them if you haven’t done so already!
