Just before this year’s highly anticipated Pokemon Day, the developers behind Pokemon Scarlet and Violet have thrilled fans by announcing the return of Walking Wake and Iron Leaves as Five-Star Tera Raid bosses. If you missed these compelling Paradox Pokemon before, you’ll have a week-long window—from February 20th to 27th—to try and capture them.
Walking Wake and Iron Leaves have generated quite the buzz, being regarded as the ancient and futuristic incarnations of Suicune and Virizion. Walking Wake is a formidable Water and Dragon type, while Iron Leaves is a unique blend of Grass and Psychic. But there’s a catch: these elusive creatures are version exclusives. You’ll find Walking Wake in Pokemon Scarlet, and Iron Leaves in Pokemon Violet, meaning you’ll need to engage in some trading if you hope to register both in your Pokedex. Their last appearance in Tera Raid battles was between late April and early May of the previous year.
With the recent Milcery Valentine’s Day Tera Raid event wrapping up, trainers should gear up for the upcoming challenge. According to Serebii.net, both Pokemon will make their Tera Raid debut on Thursday, February 20, starting at around 7 PM Eastern. The event will run until Thursday, February 27, wrapping up just as Pokemon Day kicks off. Keep an eye on your version-specific Tera Raid dens—Walking Wake will pop up in Scarlet, while Iron Leaves will be exclusive to Violet.
Remember, you can only catch one Walking Wake or Iron Leaves per save file, so if you’ve nabbed them previously, you’re out of luck for another capture. However, don’t shy away from taking on these raids again; they’re a good source of rewards like EXP Candies and rare Berries. Walking Wake comes with the Water-Tera type, whereas Iron Leaves brings a Psychic-Tera challenge.
Given that both bosses will be at level 75, players with a strong team of level 100 Pokemon should find the battles manageable. The timing of the raid event’s end on February 27 might intrigue fans, aligning with Pokemon Day. As we await the release of Pokemon Legends: Z-A later in the year, many are speculating about a potential Pokemon Presents episode detailing the next big thing for the Switch.
Additionally, fans of Pokemon Scarlet and Violet have until February 28 to redeem codes for useful items like the Quick Ball. With the excitement of Pokemon Day nearing, who knows what surprises The Pokemon Company might have in store for trainers worldwide?
