Capcom has announced the upcoming remaster of the PlayStation 2 gem, Onimusha 2: Samurai’s Destiny, slated for release on the Nintendo Switch.
This game continued the saga of Onimusha: Warlords, and it struck a chord with gamers worldwide, racking up an impressive 2.1 million copies sold. Its success made it the most popular installment in the Onimusha series.
The story introduces players to Jubei Yagyu, a new protagonist driven by vengeance. Jubei’s character design pays homage to the renowned Japanese actor, Yusaku Matsuda, who enjoyed fame in the 1980s.
The remastered version promises to deliver the original’s beloved setting and gameplay but is enhanced with modern features and quality-of-life improvements to appeal to today’s gaming audience.
Players can look forward to grabbing Onimusha 2: Samurai’s Destiny on the Nintendo eShop, with a worldwide release scheduled for 2025.
