Nintendo Switch Online has just rolled out a fresh series of Pokemon Scarlet and Violet icons for its users, unveiling the seventh and concluding set dedicated to the Hidden Treasure of Area Zero DLC. This latest batch comes on the heels of a series that started in mid-November 2024, continuing the trend set by the Indigo Disk icons released last year across six sets. Subscribers can access this final wave from December 31, 2024, to January 7, 2025, marking the culmination of these limited-time offerings.
For those unfamiliar, Nintendo Switch Online is a subscription service that brings Switch owners online multiplayer capabilities, cloud saving, and voice chat. In October 2021, an upgraded tier called the Nintendo Switch + Expansion Pack was introduced, giving subscribers access to a treasure trove of games from Nintendo 64, Sega Genesis, and Game Boy Advance libraries. Recently, subscribers have also enjoyed classic NES and Game Boy titles, such as Tetris and Tetris DX, further broadening their game catalog. Plus, members can make use of the available DLCs for popular games like Animal Crossing: New Horizons, Mario Kart 8, and Splatoon 2.
A recent announcement on Twitter by Serebii.net confirmed the release of the seventh and final wave of Pokemon Scarlet and Violet icons. This set includes a range of new characters, such as Penny, the mythical Pecharunt, Pikachu, Eevee, and Shiny Rayquaza, among others like a Team Star member and Charcadet. Alongside these icons, subscribers can also spruce up their profiles with five new Backgrounds and Frames featuring an array of colors and themes, including an exclusive red and purple scheme. Given Sylveon’s current in-game prowess for tackling Tera Raid battles, its icon is proving particularly popular.
Getting your hands on these new Pokemon icons is quite simple, with each icon from the seventh set priced at 10 Platinum Points, and each Background and Frame set you back 5 Platinum Points. While many fans on Twitter expressed their excitement for the new releases, some hoped to see even more Eeveelutions added. The Sylveon icon remains a fan favorite, with many keeping their fingers crossed for future releases of icons featuring Glaceon and Perrin.
In addition to these, Nintendo Switch Online also offers Mario-themed icons and a nice assortment for fans of The Legend of Zelda. The subscription’s Missions and Rewards system nudges subscribers to complete various missions to earn Platinum Points, which can then be redeemed for retro icons and other icon elements. The rewards catalog is regularly updated to keep things fresh for users.
Furthermore, Pokemon Scarlet and Violet draw players into a rich world teeming with mysteries and adventures. The game encourages exploration, offering independent study projects themed around treasure hunting. Players traverse the Paldea region, engaging in activities such as achieving Champion Rank on Victory Road, searching for rare ingredients with Arven on the Path of Legends, and standing up against Team Star on Starfall Street. With an open world brimming with challenges, there’s a wealth of experiences waiting to be discovered, wherever your journey takes you.
