I gotta say, with Xbox’s lineup this year, I’m like a kid in a candy store. Next big thing they’re putting all their chips on? The Outer Worlds 2 by Obsidian. Honestly, I can’t even remember what I did last Tuesday, but I instantly got flashbacks of last year’s Black Ops 6. Or was it the year before that with Starfield? Ha! It’s all blurring together.
That double feature announcement caught my eye faster than my cat chasing a laser pointer. So Xbox is officially the first to spill their June event beans, ahead of the pack. Go figure.
Ah yes, the good ol’ Xbox Games Showcase — that’s our regular June shindig. Sorta replacing E3 time, I guess? Circle June 8 on the calendar, folks. It’s all going down via livestream. I’ve been trying to train my goldfish to remind me, but it’s not really working out. Maybe sticky notes on my forehead will do better?
The big headliner: The Outer Worlds 2, shimmying itself into what used to be Call of Duty’s territory last year. Starfield set the stage in 2023, and now, it’s all about those behind-the-scenes peeks and gameplay dives we can’t get enough of. Expect some serious nerdgasms, right?
Funny twist, though — this year, it’s all digital. No physical gig. So long to Phil Spencer on a big stage. Instead, we’ll have ’em streaming into our homes, cozy on the couch kinda style, unless, of course, you really wanna recreate the whole experience with a projector and a crazily hyped-up audience. Hey, no judging here.
Tune in on June 8 at exactly when you feel like — but officially, 10am PT if you want to be precise. Get your snacks. It’s showing live on YouTube, Twitch, and even Facebook (do people still use Facebook?). A deep dive into Obsidian’s magical world, maybe even a surprise release date? Could happen. Fingers crossed! But, eh, who am I kidding? Do these things ever start on time?
Soak in the chaos, folks. And if you’re like me, try not to burn the popcorn. See ya there! If I don’t get distracted by a squirrel or something.
