It inched past the second film, which had grossed $405 million—a sum that is nothing to scoff at, by any means. It’s likely that the folks over at Paramount are thrilled with this upward trend, even if it’s a modest increase of $20 million, which is not exactly small change. It’s interesting to note that this would typically be the juncture where things might start to plateau, if they were going to at all.
The inclusion of Shadow, undeniably a crowd-pleaser, probably played a significant role in boosting ticket sales. The real question now is whether the fourth installment will match or exceed this success. The teaser at the end of the credits hints at the entrance of another beloved character that I’m particularly excited about.
