The countdown has begun for fans and innovators in the virtual world who are eager to showcase their projects at the upcoming OpenSimulator Community Conference. If you’re hoping to present, mark your calendars—the deadline for submissions is October 29, 2024. This event marks the twelfth annual gathering for the vibrant OpenSim community.
“We’re excited to invite you to join us in celebrating the twelfth year of open-source virtual worlds, where creativity, technology, artistry, and education come to life,” announced Cynthia Calongne, the conference co-chair, who is also known by her in-world name, Lyr Lobo.
Scheduled for December 7 and 8, this two-day extravaganza promises to be packed with presentations covering a range of topics—from creative and educational to technical and experiential—all centered around OpenSimulator and the open metaverse.
“We’re eager to hear about your creations, insights, and achievements,” Calongne shared with Hypergrid Business.
The organizers are on the lookout for talks that highlight innovative content, major triumphs in the OpenSim landscape, forward-thinking visions for open-source virtual worlds, and unique uses of OpenSimulator technology.
Each speaker will be given a 20-minute slot to share their insights. Additionally, the conference will feature community-led tours, an Expo, content giveaways, and opportunities for hypergrid exploration.
Interested participants can expect to receive emails about proposal acceptance by October 31. Those who are selected must register by November 7 to confirm their place in the lineup.
The excitement will build up with music and art events on December 6, setting the stage for the main sessions on December 7 and 8.
To submit your presentation ideas, head over to the OSCC’s Call for Proposals page.
