Capcom Confirms Development of Okami Sequel

During The Game Awards, the announcement of an Okami sequel was made. Capcom confirmed, “We have set the wheels in motion for a new Okami project. The original Okami is celebrated for its distinctive world, touching narrative, and exhilarating story arcs. Now, we’re crafting a new journey that captures the spirit of the original.”

Speculation about a sequel had been floating around for years. We first caught wind of the possibility when Ikumi Nakamura mentioned her plans to propose a follow-up to Capcom. Back then, she emphasized that one condition for moving forward would be to have Hideki Kamiya direct the sequel once more.

The development team has told fans, “It might be a while before we have more updates, but we’re just as thrilled about this project as you are.”
