The team behind Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 has unveiled a significant update to their multiplayer camo challenges. Gamers will be pleased to know that they only need to unlock five Military Camos to gain access to and equip Special Camos on their weapons. This is a big change from the previous requirement of nine Military Camos, which meant achieving 100 headshots per weapon.
Call of Duty fans will see this change come into effect with the release of Black Ops 6 and Warzone Season 2, available starting today, January 28. This is a crucial update as the player base on Steam has been on a downward trend. Following one of the longest seasons in the history of the franchise, players are eagerly awaiting new content and features. Activision has also acknowledged community concerns and promised updates, such as allowing console players to opt-out of crossplay in Ranked mode, addressing the hacking problem on PC versions of Warzone and Black Ops 6.
Treyarch Studios, the developer of the game, has listened to the community’s feedback about the underuse of the over 250 unique Special Camos in Black Ops 6. In response, they’ve decided to simplify the path to unlock these camos. Starting from Season 2, players will need only five Military Camos, typically equivalent to 30 headshots, to access Special Camos, as opposed to the previous requirement of nine Military Camos, rounding up to 100 headshots.
The quest for camos has been a driving force for players, particularly those striving for the renowned Dark Matter camo, the top-tier in Multiplayer. Unlocking it involves completing challenges for nine Military Camos, two Special Camos, and four Mastery Camos. Many players have found the Military Camo challenges too demanding due to the high headshot count involved.
In addition to this change, Season 2 promises more improvements to Black Ops 6, including a new camo challenge tracker. This handy feature, reminiscent of the one in Modern Warfare 3, will allow players to track up to 10 camo challenges simultaneously, with real-time updates, making the journey to Dark Matter less cumbersome.
Black Ops 6, an exhilarating blend of spy thriller and action, is set in the dramatic backdrop of the early 90s. With heart-stopping heists and stealth missions, the game offers a dynamic play environment. The multiplayer experience is packed with 16 fresh maps, including favorites like the Round-Based Zombies mode. Post-launch, players can anticipate more maps and innovative features in both Multiplayer and Zombies modes.
For those keen on hardware specifics, Black Ops 6 supports various systems, including Xbox and PlayStation, with campaigns lasting roughly eight hours. Released on October 25, 2024, it provides a vibrant multiplayer environment and is optimized for the latest Xbox models with a substantial file size of 216 GB. The game supports various play modes and offers an exciting experience for any Call of Duty fan, regardless of their platform.
