Update: The service is back up and running.
Let’s dive back in…
Earlier today, players across several EA games, including the popular Battlefield and FIFA/EA Sports FC series, found themselves unable to connect due to server crashes. Reports began surfacing on Sunday morning, primarily from Battlefield enthusiasts, as they struggled with connectivity issues on EA Online.
### EA Online Server Outage: Affected Games
Personally, I encountered the issue while attempting to log into Battlefield V—which, by the way, is an excellent game and currently available at a fantastic discount on the PS Store. Instead of diving into gameplay, I was greeted with a frustrating message: “failed to connect to EA Online.” Upon further investigation, it seems that this connectivity snag extends across all Battlefield titles, including Battlefield 1 and Battlefield 2042, as of now.
In addition to the Battlefield series, it sounds like FIFA/EA Sports FC players are facing similar online woes. Interestingly, I haven’t come across any widespread reports from Apex Legends players or users of EA’s other sports titles experiencing the same difficulties. So, if you’re suddenly finding EA’s servers unresponsive, rest assured, your internet is likely not the culprit.
It’s certainly a bummer that this happened on a Sunday morning—prime gaming time for many. Currently, EA has not released any official statement about the outage, nor has there been an estimated time for a resolution. We’ll make sure to update you once EA Online is fully operational again.
