Apple’s suite of AI utilities, known as Apple Intelligence, is set to make its debut on Vision Pro this April with the public unveiling of visionOS 2.4. However, if you’re ready to dive in early, developer mode is your golden ticket to an exclusive preview.
As anticipated, Apple Intelligence will usher in a host of AI-driven features to Vision Pro. From state-of-the-art writing aids and AI-created images to smart message replies and natural language search in Photos, the array of tools is impressive. Let’s not forget the AI summaries and custom emojis that have already made waves on iOS and Mac since their first reveal last October. With Vision Pro’s heavy reliance on voice and hand-based text input, these capabilities are poised for further enhancement.
Specifically, the upcoming Vision Pro update aims to refine the Guest User mode. This improvement allows users to seamlessly share their Vision Pro experiences with others by connecting through a nearby iPhone or iPad. It’s all about cutting down the usual cumbersome back-and-forth—no more frustrating navigation advice like, “Alright, go back to Home and select that icon… Oops, not that one!” Easier access and guidance are on the horizon.
Another exciting feature on the docket for version 2.4 is the debut of Spatial Gallery. This collection will spotlight an eclectic mix of spatial photos, videos, and panoramas, curated from the works of artists, filmmakers, and photographers. As it becomes available, Spatial Gallery will be introduced to users across Australia, Canada, France, Germany, Hong Kong, Japan, Korea, Singapore, Taiwan, the U.A.E., the UK, and the U.S.
There’s more to look forward to in April when Vision Pro will further integrate with iOS. With the official launch of visionOS 2.4, users can expect convenient app and game download queuing, exploration of spatial content, and easy access to device information via a brand-new Apple Vision Pro iOS app, which will debut alongside iOS 18.4.
Initially, the 2.4 release featuring Apple Intelligence will support only U.S. English, but Apple assures us that additional language support and features will be rolled out throughout the year.
No specific release date has been confirmed beyond the April timeframe, but Apple has already released a beta version for developers. If you’re eager to test the waters, navigate to Settings > Privacy & Security, activate the “Developer Mode,” and reboot your Vision Pro.
