Nintendo’s popular mobile app, Animal Crossing: Pocket Camp, will bid farewell on November 28, 2024, at 3 PM BST, 7 AM PT, and 10 AM ET. While we all knew this day was coming, and there was some comfort knowing Pocket Camp Complete is arriving on mobile next month, it’s still hard not to feel a bit emotional, especially with the launch of the ‘Thank-You Finale’ event.
Unlike the quiet endings of some other Nintendo apps, Pocket Camp is going out with a heartfelt bang. This ‘Thank-You Finale’ serves as a proper send-off to the virtual campsite you’ve nurtured over the past seven years.
While I won’t spoil all the event details here, if you’re curious, there’s a video from Kolma linked at the bottom of this article for non-players. Expect a nostalgic journey alongside your cherished villagers, with fireworks, familiar faces, and maybe, if you’re anything like me, a tear or two.
To dive into the ‘Thank-You Finale’, just find the ‘Flower Card’ in the Misc. section of your Tools page. Hand it over to an animal in your campsite or cabin, which gets you the ‘Thank-You Flower Stand’. Display and interact with it to kick off the event message.
The official Pocket Camp Twitter account is inviting players to share who made an appearance in their ‘Thank-You Finale’. It’s a touching way to connect with fellow campers.
Though saying goodbye to Animal Crossing: Pocket Camp might be bittersweet, it doesn’t mean the end of your mobile Animal Crossing adventures. Pocket Camp Complete, a paid version, launches on December 3 at a special early price of $9.99 or £8.99 until January 31, 2025. After that, it’ll cost $19.99 or £17.99.
This new edition offers the same beloved game, plus some extras like additional Leaf Tokens and a new Camper Cards feature. You’ll be able to transfer all your existing Pocket Camp data seamlessly—so no need to worry about starting from scratch or paying more down the road.
For now, check out the promised video of the ‘Thank-You Finale’. It’s tough to say so long, Pocket Camp!
