The buzz around AMD’s upcoming Radeon RX 8000 “RDNA 4” mobile GPUs is building, with Golden Pig Upgrade Pack leading the charge by sharing the first look at the specifications.
AMD seems to be gearing up to introduce a diverse lineup of these new mobile GPUs, potentially launching at least four models. This lineup is anticipated to feature configurations with up to 16 GB of memory and total graphics power (TGP) reaching up to 175 watts.
Golden Pig Upgrade Pack, who has been keeping a close eye on AMD’s developments on Bilibili, has provided insights into what we can expect from the new AMD Radeon RX 8000 series. According to the details shared, the series will comprise at least four SKUs, characterized as follows:
– R25M-E6 (Navi 48?) – 16 GB / 256-bit
– R25M-E4 (Navi 48?) – 12 GB / 192-bit
– R25M-P6 (Navi 44?) – 8 GB / 128-bit
– R25M-P4 (Navi 44?) – 8 GB / 128-bit
Previously, Benchlife reported on different variants, but they were tailored for desktops. The key to distinguishing between the two is in the suffix – ‘D’ signifies a desktop model while ‘M’ denotes a mobile variant. The desktop versions are listed as follows:
– Navi 48 SKU #1 – R24D-E8
– Navi 48 SKU #2 – R24D-E6
– Navi 44 SKU #1 – R25D-P8
– Navi 44 SKU #2 – R25D-P4

The mobile lineup aims to succeed the Radeon RX 7900M (Navi 31) and RX 7800M (Navi 32) GPUs. Specifically, the R25M-E6 is predicted to showcase a 16 GB, 256-bit setup with a power draw ranging from 80 to 175 watts. Conversely, the R25M-E4 will likely feature a 12 GB, 192-bit setup, also within the same power bracket. Both of these seem to lean on the Navi 48 GPU technology, with variations in the XT and XL models.
On the horizon are two Navi 44 entries, expected to bridge the gap left by the RX 7600M XT and RX 7600M, which were based on the earlier RDNA 3 architecture (Navi 33). The R25M-P6 and R25M-P4 models will offer an 8 GB, 128-bit configuration. For the higher-tier “XT” SKU, expect a power consumption window of 75-150 watts, and for the “XL” version, a range of 50-130 watts.
What’s still uncertain is whether the mobile versions of these RDNA 4 GPUs will feature the same memory speed as their desktop siblings, the latter of which are expected to support 18, 19, and 20 Gbps GDDR6 memory configurations.
In addition to the new RX 8000 series, AMD plans to refresh the Navi 33 models for entry-level laptops. While these will maintain the RDNA 3 architecture, minor tweaks and optimizations might be on the table. However, don’t anticipate them sporting the RDNA 3.5 updates.
Looking ahead, these new GPU configurations are expected to echo their desktop counterparts and are likely to make their debut at CES 2025, hitting the market by the first quarter of the same year.
