Another patch has dropped for Call of Duty: Black Ops 6, bringing tweaks that include a much-needed nerf to the Recon Combat Specialty Perk and the addition of a new 10v10 Moshpit playlist. Today, Treyarch unveiled all the details in a website post, addressing some persistent issues players have faced since the game’s release. The newly introduced 10v10 playlist seems to be the hot topic, offering extended lobbies across a variety of Multiplayer maps in Black Ops 6. Players should brace themselves for even more chaos in the already frenzied map of Nuketown when jumping into a 10v10 match. Alongside the standard Nuketown 24/7 playlist, fans can now explore a fresh Stakeout 24/7 playlist as well.
The update also brings another nerf to the Recon perk, a frequent subject of player complaints over the past few weeks. This perk had been giving players noticeable combat advantages, such as briefly seeing enemies through walls right after spawning. Initially, this effect lasted two seconds, which many likened to cheat-like behavior, such as wallhacks. In response, Treyarch quickly reduced it to 1.5 seconds, and with today’s patch, it has been trimmed down further to just one second.
Multiplayer fans may also notice they can no longer leave the map in Lowtown. Additional updates focus on improving stability and tweaking experience points (XP) earn rates. The Zombies mode received its own set of adjustments, fixing a few glitches and resolving a Tactical Raft exploit that previously allowed players to launch the vehicle into the sky on the Terminus map.
This patch may seem modest compared to previous ones, but that’s because Treyarch is gearing up to release a massive Season 1 update next week. Just yesterday, they shared insights into the new season, promising more multiplayer maps, new Zombies content, and an overhauled Warzone. A mid-season refresh is also expected later, which will introduce Ranked Play this month.
Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 has made an impressive debut since launching on October 25 for both PC and consoles, and its success feels well-deserved. We’ve rated this year’s entry 8/10 for both its Multiplayer and Zombies modes. While there’s no confirmed date for the next patch, it seems likely we won’t have to wait long. In the meantime, check out our essential tips for online players and the story of the YouTuber who accidentally ended his 147-round Zombies streak during a live stream.
