Square Enix has lifted the veil on what’s to come in Final Fantasy 14’s much-anticipated Patch 7.1, as they released a sneak peek into its Crossroads content update. The fresh update promises an array of quality-of-life improvements and a continuation of the captivating story for players to get absorbed in.
Marked on your calendar for November 12, the Crossroads update arrives as the premier major patch following Dawntrail’s debut in July. The new main scenario missions for Patch 7.1 will delve into the personalities introduced in Dawntrail, wrapping up the tumultuous events of Patch 7.0. To dive into this continuing saga, players should pay a visit to Bol Wuruq over at the For’ard Cabins in Tuliyollal. Moreover, fans of Final Fantasy 11 have a treat as the Echoes of Vana’diel alliance raid series makes its debut with Jeuno: The First Walk. To initiate this quest chain, seek out a Hoobigo Messenger stationed close by the Tuliyollal Aetheryte Plaza.
But the story expansion isn’t all that Patch 7.1 has in store. Among its various enhancements, it offers smoother quality-of-life facets for players. The patch notes hint at new features allowing gamers to effortlessly transfer their main character’s settings to their alternate avatars. So things like HUD layouts, hotbars, gear sets, and macros can now be synchronized at the touch of a button on the Character Selection menu. Moreover, a revamp of the Hall of the Novice introduces complex combat mechanics, like stack markers for shared incoming damage. Those who rise to the new Hall of the Novice challenge will earn a special ring that boosts experience until hitting level 60.
In anticipation of these sweeping updates, Square Enix has scheduled a brief server downtime. Kicking off at 10:00 PM Eastern on November 11 and wrapping up by 5:00 AM Eastern the following morning, the server maintenance will also reveal detailed job balance tweaks for both PVE and PVP modes. As the updates roll out, players can also look forward to smaller content installments through 2024 and into early 2025, including the highly anticipated Ultimate raid and more tales from the Hildibrand quest series.
With Patch 7.1 just around the corner, players are racing against the clock to wrap up the Moogle Treasure Trove event and current PVP endeavors. Excitement is in the air, though it remains to be seen how fans will receive the Crossroads update in action.
