In an exciting update from Creatures Inc., it’s been revealed that the Pokémon Trading Card Game Pocket has achieved an astonishing milestone, amassing over 30 million downloads in just nine days since its release. This impressive feat was shared through the Pokémon TCG Pocket’s X/Twitter account, where the team expressed their gratitude to fans: “Thirty million?! Just imagine how many card packs have been opened! On behalf of everyone involved in creating this game, thank you for your incredible support!”
Launched on October 30, Pokémon TCG Pocket offers a streamlined digital experience of the classic trading card game. Players delve into the world of opening packs, collecting cards, constructing decks, and dueling with others. This simple yet engaging formula has clearly struck a chord, with the game raking in a remarkable $12 million in just its first four days.
Since its release, Creatures Inc. has been busy rolling out new content, introducing three events to keep players engaged. These include a collecting event, a solo battle challenge, and a player versus player battle event. In the first of these events, players have a chance to snag a Wonder Pick, offering a shot at acquiring a Meowth or Chansey, along with event tickets and Wonder Hourglasses. The second segment of this event was released today and will continue until November 15.
The solo battle event presents players with the opportunity to face decks themed around water, with the enticing chance to win new promotional cards like the Lapras ex. Following this, a PVP event was introduced, where participants can earn badges, staying true to the spirit of Pokémon.
As expected, players are eagerly crafting their best decks for these events, with Mewtwo and Charizard naturally leading the charge. However, Misty is causing quite the stir, thanks to her game-changing heads or tails ability that is both thrilling and frustrating players.
On the collection side of things, players are buzzing with theories, particularly around crinkled corner cards, while others are eagerly hunting down elusive god packs that contain five alternate art cards in a single swoop. Additionally, there’s talk of a hidden Mew card in the game, which, while not too difficult to obtain, adds an exciting layer of mystery.
