News has surfaced about a film adaptation of the game “Split Fiction,” which was recently released to much acclaim. Variety has shared that Story Kitchen is orchestrating this project, actively assembling a team of writers, selecting a director, and lining up the cast. This isn’t Story Kitchen’s first rodeo in the gaming adaptation arena; they previously worked on converting Hazelight’s earlier hit, “It Takes Two,” into a movie, a project now in the hands of Amazon. They’ve also been involved in adaptations for “Toejam and Earl,” “Slim Rancher,” and “Vampire Survivors.”
Evidently, offers are flooding in from numerous top-tier Hollywood studios eager to bring “Split Fiction” to the big screen.
Since its launch in March, “Split Fiction” has enjoyed impressive success, selling a whopping one million copies within just 48 hours and surpassing the two million mark after its first week on the market. Hazelight expressed their astonishment on Bluesky, exclaiming, “Holy crap, we’re blown away! Simply amazing,” as they celebrated this second milestone.
They also extended heartfelt thanks to their fanbase, new and long-standing, for the enthusiasm surrounding their game.
For those interested in the “It Takes Two” film adaptation, Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson is set to star, with Pat Casey and Josh Miller, known for their work on “Sonic the Hedgehog,” penning the script.
