According to recent updates, NVIDIA’s board partners have been informed about a delay concerning the RTX 5060 series GPUs. Originally set for an earlier arrival, these graphics cards will now hit the market a few weeks later than expected.
Just as the GeForce RTX 5070 gears up for its debut, reports have emerged about setbacks plaguing the RTX 5060 series. Initially, it was rumored that we’d see a release in March with sales starting in April. But new information suggests that timeline has been pushed back.
Although the exact reasons for the delay remain vague, insiders at Board Channels have confirmed that all of NVIDIA’s board partners have been alerted. While official statements from NVIDIA are still pending, the delay seems plausible given the silence around the RTX 5060 release. Rumors of bugs and supply chain hiccups have surfaced, but NVIDIA hasn’t confirmed any specifics.
Reports from Board Channels indicate that NVIDIA has communicated through internal emails to their AIC partners, stating that the launches for the RTX 5060 Ti and RTX 5060 series will be postponed. The RTX 5060 Ti models, available in 16 GB and 8 GB versions, are now expected around mid-April, with the RTX 5060 series following in mid-May. Exact dates, however, remain under wraps.
Interestingly, this shift might align the RTX 5060 series launch with AMD’s anticipated RX 9060 series GPUs, which consist of the RX 9060 XT and RX 9060 variants. These AMD cards, offering 8 GB and 16 GB options, are shaping up to be direct rivals to NVIDIA’s lineup. Though the RX 9060’s launch date is yet to be confirmed, it’s also speculated for a second-quarter release.
Looking at the specs, the GeForce RTX 5060 Ti, succeeding the RTX 4060 Ti, will boast 4608 CUDA Cores, options for 8 or 16 GB GDDR7 VRAM, and a TDP of 180W. Meanwhile, the RTX 5060 is set to replace the RTX 4060, featuring 3840 CUDA Cores, 8 GB GDDR7 VRAM, and a TDP of 150W. Recent leaks have hinted at a 12 GB version of the RTX 5060, though this isn’t officially confirmed. If true, it could give NVIDIA a competitive edge over AMD’s RX 9060, which is currently expected to come only in the 8 GB variety.
