XR Games, known for their work on “Hitman 3 VR: Reloaded” and “Starship Troopers Continuum,” both released in 2024, has revealed an exciting new rhythm game for the Quest platform named BEATABLE. This unique game leverages hand-tracking technology to transform any table into a vibrant musical instrument.
Typically, aligning your physical surroundings with a virtual world brings a strong sense of immersion, as you can actually ‘feel’ the surrounding elements, enhancing the suspension of disbelief. But BEATABLE takes this immersion a step further by allowing your very own table to double as a musical instrument. The game enables you to physically tap, snap, and clap to the rhythm using just your hands. This approach offers a kind of “real-world haptics” that traditional controller-based rhythm games simply can’t replicate.
Unlike other games, BEATABLE relies entirely on hand-tracking. This feature ensures quick setup for accurate and responsive gameplay, which is crucial when aiming to match the beat perfectly for high scores.
Prominent VR YouTuber and rhythm action aficionado, Naysy, has teamed up with XR Games. She’s been providing valuable gameplay insights throughout the game’s development and is also featured in the game’s promotional trailer.
“It’s been a while since a rhythm game hooked me quite like this one. I adore VR rhythm games, and BEATABLE brings a refreshingly unique twist to the genre,” Naysy commented. “The combination of physical interaction and hand tracking makes for an intuitive and immersive experience. I’m smitten with this game and eagerly await its reception by players.”
The game is set to debut in early access on April 10th for Quest 2 and newer devices. You can pre-order it now at a 10% discount, making the game available for just $9.
