I’m in a bit of a gaming limbo at the moment—probably like many of you. We’re all eagerly anticipating the Switch 2 Direct, and the wait feels like it’s dragging on forever. So, this weekend, I’ve decided to dive into “Faith: The Unholy Trinity.” It’s got this fantastic creepy, retro vibe that really appeals to me, plus it seems like a quick playthrough.
Aside from that, I might revisit “Pokémon HeartGold” just for the heck of it. I need something to keep me entertained through February and March. It’s been ages since I’ve truly lost myself in a mainline Pokémon game, and it feels like the right time.
I’m heading to the Pokémon EUIC this weekend, which means my gaming hours will be a bit scarce. However, I can’t resist a little practice of my own, so I’ll have my 3DS and “Pokémon X” along for the ride. What a stellar generation! And the StreetPass notifications are already coming in—fingers crossed for more puzzle pieces.
If I squeeze in any extra time, my partner and I are getting close to finishing “It Takes Two.” We’re on our first playthrough, and wrapping it up would be fantastic.
After wrapping up several games last week, I’m ready for new adventures. I’ve got “FANTASIAN Neo Dimension” next on my list, and I aim to finish it before “Xenoblade Chronicles X: Definitive Edition” arrives. I was pleasantly surprised by “Guns of Fury,” a delightful blend of Metal Slug and metroidvania. “X-Out: Resurfaced” keeps challenging me with its unique “euro shmup” style, refreshing compared to my expansive Japanese shmup collection on the Switch. Plus, I’ll be diving back into “FreeSpace 2,” working through the amazing Inferno mod—probably the closest we’ll get to an official franchise sequel.
My standout game of the week is “Stories from Sol: The Gun-Dog.” As a longtime fan of anime and sci-fi, it’s simply unmissable. They might be rare, but it seems they still make games like this!
I’m nearing the end of “Metal Gear Solid,” and that’s my goal for the weekend—finishing it up. But I’ve been catching up on Retronauts podcasts and now have a strong urge to revisit “Indiana Jones and the Fate of Atlantis.” I think I have it either on Steam or the Staff of Kings Wii disc. So, I’ll likely be gaming on the TV, Wiimote in one hand and a cold drink in the other. I owned the game as a kid but never got too far, so here’s hoping for better luck now. Enjoy your weekend, everyone!
