In March, VR enthusiasts have something exciting to look forward to: another edition of the VR Games Showcase, which organizers promise will feature the largest lineup of XR games we’ve seen from them yet.
While exact details are a bit scarce at the moment, particularly the precise date of this online spectacle, the team behind the event assures us via a recent post on X that more news is just around the corner.
Historically, these showcases have been packed with insights about the studios that will join in, giving us some clues on what to anticipate. You can bet on a strong focus on Quest games, but don’t worry—there’ll be plenty of content for PSVR 2 and PC VR enthusiasts too.
Reflecting on last year, the VR Games Showcase was a real treat, offering a flurry of game announcements and updates. Highlights included gameplay teasers from HITMAN III: Reloaded, the Arizona Sunshine Remake by Vertigo Games, and Fast Travel Games’ Action Hero. Plus, we saw gameplay trailers for GRIM, the survival game inspired by Rust, bringing us news from seven different studios and more than 15 exciting titles.
Not to be outdone, about a month after that event, they streamed an intriguing ‘XR Indies and Friends’ showcase. This featured engaging updates like new info on Innerspace VR’s One True Path, a sneak peek at Cyborn’s mixed reality adventure Wall Town Wonders, a trailer for the VR take on Ovid Works’ Metamorphosis, and gameplay from Just Add Water’s arcade-style DIG VR.
In anticipation of the upcoming March event, we’ll be keeping tabs on the VR Games Showcase YouTube channel, where they’ll be streaming it live. We’re eager to see what announcements unfold in the lead-up to this highly anticipated event.
