Ahead of CES 2025, a fresh handheld console has been unveiled in a slick new trailer, though it’s not the anticipated Nintendo Switch 2. Instead, it takes a nostalgic leap into the past with a modern twist: introducing the Atari Gamestation Go!
The trailer offers a full glimpse of this new gadget, revealing a mix of modern and retro features. You’ll find the standard triggers and four face buttons, but it also boasts vintage touches like a keypad and a Trak-Ball. This retro flair means a treasure trove of classic games is at your fingertips.
For those taken by surprise, this isn’t the first hint we’ve had of the console’s existence. An earlier iteration, known then as the Gamestation Portable, was available for testing during last year’s CES. Atari even shared 3D printed models with select influencers to showcase what was in the works.
While we joked about it earlier, the arrival of this device signifies an exciting moment for handheld gaming enthusiasts. Although the Gamestation Go and Nintendo Switch 2 cater to different core audiences—with Atari focusing on retro aficionados—both consoles satisfy a growing desire for portable devices capable of delivering unique gaming experiences.
Currently, we only have the trailer, but with CES 2025 just around the corner, more details are bound to emerge soon. We’d love to hear your thoughts—are you eager for more updates on the Atari Gamestation Go? Share your enthusiasm below!
