Free Trial Available for All Players of New PS5 Game

Great news for PS5 gamers itching for a new experience! Nacon has rolled out a free trial for its racing game, Test Drive Unlimited Solar Crown, giving players a chance to dive into the action without spending a dime. From today through Tuesday, December 31, you can hop into the game and explore all it has to offer. Just a heads-up, you’ll need a PS Plus membership to race online.

At this point, the trial is exclusive to the PS5 and can be accessed directly from the PS Store. Although Nacon has hinted at future trials for other platforms, they haven’t yet revealed any specifics about those plans.

The announcement was shared on Twitter by Test Drive Unlimited Solar Crown, stating: “A free trial is coming soon to PS5®! From December 27 at 9 AM UTC to December 31 at 9 AM UTC, Test Drive Unlimited Crown will be playable for free with no time limits! Prepare to explore Hong Kong Island and the capital of Ibiza behind the wheel of exceptional cars!”

Since its launch in September 2024, Test Drive Unlimited Solar Crown hasn’t exactly wowed the crowds, sporting a Metacritic score of 55/100 for the PS5 and only garnering recommendations from a mere 7% of critics on OpenCritic. Most of the critique revolves around its lackluster presentation and rough around the edges feel, especially when stacked against its polished competition in the racing genre. Despite touting a ‘PS5 Pro enhanced’ label, it remains a bit of a mystery as to how much that really impacts game performance or visuals.
