COLD VR is poised to be the spiritual successor to the longstanding fan-favorite, SUPERHOT VR, which took the gaming world by storm back in 2016. The game is gearing up for release on Quest and PC VR headsets next month, with anticipation mounting for its eventual debut on the PSVR 2.

Despite its age, SUPERHOT VR continues to be a gem, remarkable for its groundbreaking time-stopping movement mechanic. It’s a bit surprising that more game studios haven’t jumped on the opportunity to replicate its magic. Enter COLD VR, which takes that beloved formula and turns it on its head. Instead of slowing things down, COLD VR speeds things up. In this game, the slower you move, the faster time zips by, along with the ever-challenging enemy AI. In a recent trailer, ALLWARE, the developer behind this exciting new title, announced they’ve partnered with publisher Perp Games. Together, they’re bringing COLD VR to Quest and PC VR headsets on January 21st, 2025, with a PSVR 2 version to follow at a later date.
