Last week, Stalker 2: Heart of Chornobyl skyrocketed to become the top-selling game on Steam. Released on November 20th, this game has already sold over a million copies, and that’s excluding the number of players diving into this survival shooter through Xbox Game Pass. This remarkable achievement is undoubtedly a morale booster for GSC Game World, the developers who managed to bring Stalker 2 to life despite the challenging conditions of working in a war-afflicted region.
In its debut week, Heart of Chornobyl outpaced Counter-Strike 2, which slipped to the second spot. Meanwhile, the Steam Deck saw a surge in popularity, climbing to third place. This was largely due to the release of a special limited edition white version of the console, launched on November 18th, which practically flew off the shelves as soon as it was made available.
As for PUBG: Battlegrounds and Call of Duty: Black Ops 6, both games saw a slight dip, landing in fourth and fifth places, respectively. Microsoft Flight Simulator 2024 made its debut at number six, despite the buzz about technical glitches affecting the game.
Looking ahead, the upcoming RPG Path of Exile 2 has already secured the seventh position in the Top Ten, thanks to Supporter Packs that grant early access to eager gamers waiting for its December release.
The leaderboard continued to shift with Amazon and NCSoft’s Throne and Liberty advancing two places to reach eighth place, nudging past EA Sports FC 25, which settled in at ninth. Finally, Dota 2 wrapped up the week’s top ten list.
